The Mona Shores baseball team opened its season Monday with a resounding 21-3 victory over Newaygo in non-league action.

Noah Dykstra led the offensive attack with three doubles and a single, Elijah Wilson had two doubles and two singles while Chase Baker, Tyler Trovinger, Dugan Dieselberg and Mason Norden added two hits apiece.

Dykstra collected the win on the mound with relief help from Logan Vallie.

Game two of the doubleheader was called after four innings due to darkness with Mona Shores leading 5-0.
