The Kent City and Oakridge baseball teams took advantage of warmer weather to get out on the field Monday and split a non-league doubleheader.

Kent City scored three runs in the first inning of the opener and held on for a tight 4-2 victory. Pitcher Randy Thompson pitched the complete game victory, scattering seven hits while striking out six.

Luke Scheuneman and Nick Alt each had RBI doubles for Kent City. Hunter Benson had two hits and an RBI for Oakridge.

Oakridge got even in the nightcap with a 6-1 win. Pitcher Brock Luttrull got the victory, allowing only two hits and striking out five in four innings. Jordan Fairchild was 2-for-2 and scored two runs for the winners.

Donny Tyrink had a hit and scored a run for Kent City.
