The Whitehall girls soccer team opened the season with a tough assignment Friday and dropped a 5-0 decision to O-K Red power Hudsonville.

Hudsonville took control of the contest by scoring three goals in the first half.

“It was good for us to face such a strong team early,” said Whitehall Coach Dan Nichols. “Now we can go to work on the areas that need improvement. On a positive note our girls worked hard and didn’t back down from a school of that size and caliber.”
