Morgan Giddings produced game-winning hits in both games of a doubleheader Thursday, leading the Muskegon Community College lsj-fb-logosoftball team to a 6-5 and 9-8 sweep of Ancilla College.

MCC improved to 28-10 overall and 15-3 in the MCCAA Western Conference. They are in second place.

The lead changed hands four times in the first game before MCC emerged victorious. Giddings delivered the deciding blow in the seventh inning with a two-run double, knocking in Lindsey Helsen and Meghan Birr.

Giddings finished with two extra-base hits while Helsen added three hits. Pitcher Alexis Carpenter got the win, scattering four hits while striking out two with no walks.

In the nightcap, Giddings plated the winning run with a solo homer in the fifth inning. Amy Gillings and Katie Hendrickson also homered for the Jayhawks.

Hendrickson also pitched and got the win in relief.
