Baseball roundup 4/16: Oakridge downs WMC 12-2; Kent City takes two from Hesperia

Jordan Fairchild had two hits, including a two-run triple, while Kolin Chahorski drove in three runs lsj-fb-logoto lead Oakridge to a 12-2 victory over Western Michigan Christian Thursday in non-league baseball.

Hunter Benson and Wyatt Hilton added two hits apiece for the Eagles.

Pitcher Jaegar Beattie got the win, throwing a one-hitter while striking out five and walking four.

Fruitport 4, Ravenna 2 – Fruitport pitchers Connor Schuitema and Jason Carmean combined on a five-hitter as the Trojans captured the non-league contest on Wednesday. Jarod Wierengo had two hits while Parker Tawner knocked in two runs for Fruitport, which improved to 2-2.

O-K BLACK

Zeeland East 10, Mona Shores 0 – The Sailors were held to just two hits. Dugan Dieselberg and Tyler Trivinger posted both hits for Mona Shores.

CSAA

Kent City 4-6, Hesperia 0-4 – Kent City pitcher Randy Thompson tossed a complete-game two-hitter with 13 strikeouts in the opener. Thompson and Nick Alt each knocked in runs for the Eagles while Alt scored three runs. In the nightcap, Thompson had two RBIs while Colton Atwood had two hits and scored two runs. Pitcher Luke O’Keefe scattered eight hits to collect the win. Kent City improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in CSAA play.
