Reeths-Puffer pitchers Jacob Boes and Brody Vanderlinde each turned in strong performances Tuesday, propelling the Rockets to a season-opening doubleheader sweep of Greenville at Davenport University.

Boes tossed six innings in the first game, scattering three hits, striking out five and walking one as Reeths-Puffer captured a 5-1 win.

Tyler Moss led the Rockets offensively with two hits and three RBI. Alex Vanderwal added an RBI triple for Reeths-Puffer.

The Rockets had an easier time in the nightcap with a 10-0 win. Vanderlinde threw a five-inning shutout, giving up two hits and striking out two. Moss had two hits for Reeths-Puffer while Joe Champoux had a two-run single.
