The Ravenna softball team improved to 13-­3 overall and remained unbeaten in the West Michigan Conference following a hard ­fought doubleheader sweep of Montague Tuesday.

Game 1 was a classic pitching dual, with the contest scoreless until the Bulldogs’ Madi Broton drove in Emilee Burley with a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning. Broton tossed a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts and only one walk, while Montague pitcher Kenadee Shurgars allowed just three hits and struck out seven.

In Game 2, Ravenna scored four first-­inning runs and never trailed. Broton and Bre Dye each had three hits and Emily Kubasiak added two. Broton was the winning pitcher again, allowing two hits and striking out nine. McKenna Lohman had two hits for Montague.
