Mona Shores freshman Taylor Dew seems to have a knack for getting really big hits at key moments.
Earlier in the week she hit a three-run homer to lead the Sailors to a comeback win over Reeths-Puffer.
On Saturday the Sailors trailed East Kentwood by two runs in the fifth inning when Dew launched a grand slam to propel Mona Shores to an 11-5 comeback victory in a non-league doubleheader.
Pitcher Desi Parker was impressive in the victory, striking out 10.
Mona Shores dropped the second game 4-3. Dew was 3-for-4 at the plate while Mackenzie Lund added two hits.
Pitcher Megan Crane took the loss despite only giving up two earned runs.
Mona Shores is now 9-4 on the season.
