Girls soccer 3/31: Oakridge and Fruitport Calvary Christian win; Reeths-Puffer and Grand Haven tie, Mona Shores loses

Brandy Weaver scored three goals to lead the Oakridge girls soccer team to an 8-0 shutout of Shelby Tuesday in a West Michigan Conference matchup.

Emily Jacoutot, Nicole Karel, Alexis Florez, Lanessa Meyers and Morgan Larabee also scored for the Eagles. Shelbe Wilde had two assists for Oakridge, which scored on all but three shots on goal.

Fruitport Calvary Christian 3, Kent City Algoma Christian 1 – The Eagles broke a 1-1 tie with two goals during the second half.  Britney Zehr led the Eagles with two goals while Elise Maine added one. Eagle goalie Madison Flint stopped 5 of 6 shots.

Grand Haven 1, Reeths-Puffer 1 – The Buccaneers overcame a 1-0 first half deficit with a goal from Katie Fojtik with just under three minutes left in regulation. Haily Ruiter scored the Rockets’ lone goal in the first half at the two minute mark.

West Ottawa 3, Mona Shores 0 – The Sailors allowed three second half goals after shutting out West Ottawa in the first half. The Sailors are 0-1 on the season.
