The Grand Haven softball team’s season opening five-game win streak came to an end Thursday with a 4-3 LSJ Logo incertloss at home to Holland West Ottawa.

The Bucs (5-1) tied the score 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth after Jordan Buckingham’s hit-and-run single drove in Kylie Masko all the way from first base.

The Panthers were able to answer with a run in the top of the seventh, then sealed the win by holding Grand Haven scoreless in the bottom of the inning.

Defensively, Grand Haven held its own with three double plays.

Buckingham finished with two hits and an RBI, Morgan Hill and Yogi Hang each had doubles and Audrey Boersen posted an RBI for the Bucs.
