Muskegon Community College golfer Joel Maire finished in second place overall in the MCCAA Western Conference Tournament, which wrapped up Tuesday at the Bedford Valley Golf Club in LSJ Logo incertBattle Creek.

Maire shot a 77 in the final round and finished with a tournament score of 290. He was only one shot behind the individual tournament champion, Zach Bialek of Grand Rapids Community College, who finished with 289.

The team competition was similar, with MCC finishing second overall with a team score of 1,214. Grand Rapids Community College won the team title shooting 1,181. Four GRCC golfers finished in the top five in the tournament.

Jackson College took third in the team standings with 1,264 while Ancilla College was fourth with 1,437. Glen Oaks Community College competed in the first two rounds, but did not complete the tournament.

MCC’s Tyler Krim and Dylan Krim finished seventh and eighth individually, with tournament scores of 308 and 309, respectively. Jeff Stevens finished tenth with 313 while Conner Love tied for 14th with 323.
