Freshman Taylor Dew broke open a tied game with a three-run homer in the sixth inning Thursday to propel the Mona Shores softball team to a 9-6 victory over Reeths-Puffer in the first game of an O-K Black LSJ Logo incertConference doubleheader.

Pitcher Desi Parker struck out seven and got the win for Mona Shores. MacKenzie Willeke went 3-for-4 at the plate while Veronica Kastelic added two hits.

The Sailors completed the sweep in Game 2 by battling back from an eight-run deficit and winning 11-10. Parker got her second win of the evening on the mound while adding two hits at the plate.

Willeke had another three hits while Dew and Kastelic added two apiece.

Mona Shores improved to 7-3 overall and 3-1 in league play.
