The Muskegon Community College softball team collected two big wins over rival Grand Rapids Community College Tuesday, 10-0 and 11-3.

Megan Jean went 2-for-3 for MCC, driving in one run and scoring two.

MCC’s Katie Hendrickson got the win on the mound, pitching a five-win shutout while scattering three hits and striking out three.

In the nightcap, MCC went up for good in the first inning, scoring three runs on a two-run double by Jean and a sacrifice fly by Sarah Ferenz.

The Jayhawks added four runs in the third on a two-run single by Amy Gillings, a steal of home by Megan Vander Weele, and an RBI single by Lindsey Helsen.

Jean pitched and recorded the win, allowing three runs on four hits over 2 1/3 innings. She struck out three and walked three.
