The Oakridge and Shelby softball teams split a West Michigan Conference doubleheader on Tuesday, with Oakridge taking the first game 15-4 and Shelby winning LSJ Logo incertthe nightcap 7-6.

The loss in Game 2 was the first for Oakridge this season.

Oakridge pitcher Alyssa Fessenden picked up the win in Game 1 with six strikeouts. The Eagles had 14 hits, including four from Alessa Buchners (with two doubles), three from Anna Butler and two from Hannah Reinhold.

In the nightcap, the Eagles outhit the Tigers 14-6, but were stung by errors and walks. Shelby’s Miranda Unger had two hits and picked up the win on the mound. Kendall Felt also had two hits for the Tigers.

Oakridge fell to 11-1.
