Ben Winsemius collected four hits, including a three-run homer in the opener, to help power Spring Lake to a 6-2 and LSJ Logo incert5-2 sweep over Fruitport on Friday in Lakes 8 Conference baseball.

The Lakers also benefitted from strong starting pitching.

Kyle Peets tossed a complete-game victory in Game 1, scattering seven hits and striking out four. Trent Dove pitched six innings in the nightcap, giving up five hits.

Parker Tawney had two hits for Fruitport in the first game while Matt Sander had two hits in the second.

NON-LEAGUE

Mona Shores 12, North Muskegon 0 – Pitcher Logan Vallie tossed a two-hit shutout for the Sailors. Tyler Trovinger, Elijah Wilson and Chase Baker had two hits apiece for Mona Shores.

Kent City 10-10, White Cloud 0-2 – Kent City pitcher Randy Thompson was lights out in the first game, tossing a no-hitter while striking out 12 in five innings. Thompson also went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs. Luke Scheuneman also had two RBIs for the Eagles. In the nightcap, Luke O’Keefe pitched six innings for Kent City, giving up six hits while striking out three. Skylour Campbell went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI while Nick Alt also had a double and an RBI.
