Hesperia swept its twin bill softball matchup against Lakeview on Friday.

LSJ Logo incertThe Panthers won 9-3 in Game 1 and 6-5 after a nine-inning battle in the nightcap.

The Panthers jumped out of the gate in Game 1 with an eight-run first inning. Mera Schmitz was the hero, getting four hits and two RBIs while posting the win on the hill.

Baily Majersky had a triple, a single and an RBI and Clair Rumsey had a double and a single with an RBI for Hesperia. Mariah Stitt had two hits and KC Mullins had a hit and two RBIs.

In Game 2, Hesperia overcame a four-run Lakeview rally in the top of the ninth and answered with five runs to capture the sweep. Jackson drove in Stitt for the winning run with a line drive that forced a Lakeview error.

Sam Burdick was the winning pitcher for Hesperia, going all nine innings with no walks.

Stitt finished with two hits and two RBIs while Rumsey, Schmitz and Mullins each had two hits and an RBI for Hesperia. Ana Klimovitz added two hits.
