Reeths-Puffer blanks Muskegon in soccer, stays in the thick of league race

The Reeths-Puffer girls soccer team picked up a big 7-0 win over Muskegon on Tuesday to improve to 10-4-3 on the season and 6-2-1 in the O-K Black Conference.LSJ Logo incert

The Rockets are now tied with Kenowa Hills for first place in the league, which sets up a huge matchup between the teams on Thursday.

Tai’a Elliot scored two goals to pace the Rockets’ offensive outburst. Jayme Bransten scored a goal and assisted on another, as did Haley Ruiter.

Paige Baustert, Madison Merchant and Lyric Glaser each added single scores for Reeths-Puffer. Rebecca Bride, Jenna Stolzman and Lexi Freed each picked up assists.

Elysia Mattos was a wall in the net for the Rockets, posting 11 saves in the shutout victory.
