Evans scored two goals and added an assist in the win. Also scoring for Whitehall were Alex Fleener, Alexis Snyder and Ellie Stevens.

“We played super sharp. In the second half, we were much improved. If we can put that together Thursday, we’ll have a shot,” said Whitehall head coach Dan Nichols.

The Vikings will face Ludington at 7 p.m. Thursday at Big Rapids High School.

In the other semifinal, Shelby will face Fremont. Shelby beat Reed City 2-0 and Shelby beat Mason County Central 8-0.

Ludington 5, Big Rapids 1 – Jacquelyn Lynch scored three goals while Bethany Shay and Courtney Edwards each scored a goal for Ludington. Goalkeeper Amanda Payne stopped nine Big Rapids shots. Ludington, now 14-6, will face Whitehall in the district semifinals on Thursday night.
