In the opener, the Eagles’ stellar pitching and defense was too tough for the Bucs (11-3 overall). who were limited to five hits.

Morgan Hill accounted for Grand Haven’s lone RBI, plating Audrey Boersen with a fifth-inning hit.

In Game 2, Hudsonville jumped out a 7-0 lead after two innings and breezed to the win. The Bucs clawed back with a four-run sixth inning to make the final score closer.

Boersen and Hill had RBI singles in the frame, and Boersen also scored on an infield hit by Larisa Garza.

Grand Haven’s Kaylee Hartwell finished with four hits on the day, while head coach Paul Masko commended the infield defense of Hill, Jordan Buckingham and Pita Messer.
