Montague remained tied for first place in the West Michigan Conference baseball race with 3-1 and 8-6 victories over North Muskegon on Tuesday.

LSJ Logo incertMontague pitcher Andrew Bobien got the win in the opener, pitching a complete game while scattering five hits and striking out five. North Muskegon pitcher Riley Draper took the loss despite tossing a one-hitter.

Jacob Buchberger and Zach Buchberger each knocked in a run for the Wildcats while Kris Humphries had a hit and scored a run. Ben Garcia had the lone RBI for the Norse.

In Game 2, Montague claimed the victory by scoring a pair of runs in the ninth inning with two outs. Abram Erickson led the way with three hits and three RBIs while Jacob Buchberger also had three hits.

Jacob Buchberger struck out eight to get the win on the mound while Erickson earned a save.

Conner Gannon had three singles for North Muskegon (9-12, 3-7) while Draper, Ben Gautraud and Erick Bleakley added two hits apiece.
