The Muskegon Catholic baseball team has been nearly perfect this season, with only one loss and one tie.LSJ Logo incert

But both blemishes came against Holton.

The Crusaders were able to address that frustration on Friday night, beating the Red Devils 10-0 in a non-league contest at Marsh Field.

Pitcher Devin Comes got the win for the Crusaders, scattering four hits and striking out three to improve his personal record to 7-1.

Nick Holt paced the MCC offense with three hits and three RBIs, while Zach Winzer, Griffin Seymour and Jacob Holt each added a pair of hits.

The victory wrapped up the regular season for the Crusaders, who will head into next weekend’s district tournament with a sparkling 32-1-1 record.

The tie on their record came on the opening night of the season, when they were knotted up 5-5 with Holton and it got too dark start a new inning.

The loss was a 3-2 stunner to Holton in the Greater Muskegon Athletic Association City Tournament.

The two teams aren’t quite done with each other. Muskegon Catholic and Holton will meet in the semifinals of the Division 4 district tournament next Saturday at Holton.
