The Oakridge baseball team won the Traverse City Central Invitational over the weekend with two qualify pitching performances and timely hitting.LSJ Logo incert

The Eagles rallied to defeat Petoskey in Game 1, 4-3. The Eagles trailed 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh, then scored three times to win.

Tyler Thomas had a huge pinch hit single to start the rally, Jordon Fairchild had a double that scored two and tied the game, then Brady Luttrull scored Fairchild with a two-out, walk-off single.

Nate Wahr got the win on the mound, throwing all seven on three hits and five strikeouts.

In Game 2, Traverse City Central led 2-1 lead in the second inning when Budda Cook hammered a home run over the center field fence for Oakridge to tie the game.

The Eagles went on to win 8-5.. Cook and Hunter Benson each had two hits and scored two runs, Wahr had two hits and an RBI and Wyatt Hilton scored 2 runs.

Hilton also picked up the win on the mound, allowing two runs on three hits. one walk and eight strikeouts.
