Reeths-Puffer softball bats come alive in doubleheader beating of GR Union

Reeths-Puffer cruised past Grand Rapids Union 18-0 and 20-0 in O-K Black softball on Thursday.

The Rockets tallied six doubles in Game 1.

Marissa Groothuis and Shelby Gordon had three hits and two RBIs apiece in the opening win. Emily French had two hits and two RBIs while Emily Adams and Sarah Dick put up two hits and one RBI apiece.

Brooklynn Duffey had two hits and MaKenna Johnson had a double and three RBIs for R-P (14-11).

Adams pitched a two-hitter for R-P.

In the nightcap, Reeths-Puffer scored 10 runs in the third inning and had 16 RBIs as a team.

Duffey led with five hits and four RBIs. Carly Murat, French and Gordon each had three hits and two RBIs, Joanna Skuse had two hits and three RBIs and Marissa Groothuis had three hits and one RBI in the easy victory.
