Rainy weather postponed most of the area’s high school baseball and softball district tournaments on Saturday.LSJ Logo incert

The only local tournament that was completed was the Division 2 softball district at Allendale. Spring Lake won the title, downing Sparta 15-0 and Allendale 11-4.

Most of the rest of the games were rescheduled for Monday, with a few slated for Tuesday.

Baseball

In the Division 1 baseball tournament at Mona Shores, Kenowa Hills ousted Grand Haven 8-7 while the Reeths-Puffer-Mona Shores semifinal was postponed until Monday at noon.

The winner of that game will meet Kenowa Hills at 2:30 p.m. in the title game.

In the Division 2 tournament at Grant, Cedar Springs will meet Fremont at 1 p.m. on Monday while Whitehall and Tri-County will play at 3 p.m. The finals will be at 5 p.m.

Ludington and Chippewa Hills will play Monday at 2 p.m. in the Division 2 tournament in Big Rapids, with the winner playing the survivor of the Mount Pleasant-Cadillac game at 4 p.m.

In Division 2 at Allendale, Spring Lake beat Sparta 9-4 and Allendale downed Coopersville 7-0 before the rain came. Spring Lake and Allendale will play for the title Monday at 4 p.m.

The Division 3 tournament at North Muskegon also got two games completed, with Oakridge beating Montague 4-3 and Western Michigan Christian beating North Muskegon 6-5. The two winners will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Monday for the district trophy.

The Division 3 tournament at Hart will be Monday, with Shelby and Hesperia playing at 1 p.m., Hart and Mason County Central playing at 3 p.m. and the title game at 5 p.m.

The Division 4 tournament at Holton will be Tuesday, with Baldwin playing Kent City Algoma Christian at 2 p.m., Muskegon Catholic playing Holton at 4 p.m. and the  finals slated for 6 p.m.

Softball

In the Division 1 softball district at Mona Shores, Reeths-Puffer upset the host Sailors 14-4. The other semifinal, between Kenowa Hills and Grand Haven, will be at noon on Monday, with the winner playing R-P at 2:30 for the title.

In the Division 2 tournament at Grant, Fremont will play Grant at 1 p.m., Whitehall will play Tri-County at 3 p.m. and the finals will be at 5 p.m.

In Division 2 at Big Rapids, Ludington will face Chippewa Hills at noon, and the winner will play the survivor of the Mount Pleasant-Cadillac game at 4 p.m.

Two games were played in the Division 3 tourney at North Muskegon, with the host Norse beating Western Michigan Christian 11-6 and Montague sneaking past Ravenna 5-4. The championship game will be Monday at 2 p.m.

In Division 3 at Hart, the host Pirates will play Mason County Central at Monday at 1 p.m. while Reed City and Hesperia will play at 3 p.m. The finals are at 5 p.m.

In Division 4 at Holton, Muskegon Catholic and Holton will play at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, with the winner meeting Baldwin in the finals at 6 p.m.
