The Buccaneers (27-7-1) were down early and were never able to control any part of the game.

“It was a game that did not characterize anything of what our season was like,” said Grand Haven coach Paul Masko. “Hudsonville beat us in every aspect of the game today.”

Several other area softball teams also lost in regional action Saturday.

Hesperia fell to Morley-Stanwood 6-4 in the Division 3 regional semifinals at Newaygo. Mera Schmitz led the Panthers with two hits while Sam Burdick pitched seven innings, striking out six batters.

Fremont dropped its Division 2 regional semifinal game to Escanaba 11-2 at Cadillac High School.
