Tigers 5, Mariners 4 – The Tigers beat the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday afternoon to take two-of three in the series.
Nick Castellanos knocked in the game-winning run with a sacrifice fly, scoring Victor Martinez in the seventh inning.
Jefry Marte got his first Major League hit for the Tigers. He hit a double, home run, and had two RBIs.
Detroit starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez pitched the victory, allowing three earned runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings.
Joakim Soria closed out the game, earning his 19 save of the season for Detroit.
Detroit will head to Minnesota to take on the Twins in a four-game series before the All-Star break.
