Nummerdor, who was a first-year coach and teacher at Holton last year, will replace former Athletic Director Tighe Carter. He will continued to teach on a part-time basis while taking on the AD responsibilities.

Nummerdor got off to a strong start at Holton in 2014-15. He was the head varsity football coach and led the Red Devils to four victories, the most the team managed since 2007.

He also helped coach the wrestling team, as well as the varsity softball team, which advanced all the way to the Division 4 state semifinals this spring.

Nummerdor will maintain his coaching positions while becoming the leader of the athletic department.

“This was always something that I have wanted to do and it came as a surprise,” said Nummerdor. “I worked my butt off showing my love for Holton and their athletics and it has paid off.”

Nummerdor said his first order of business as athletic director will to install a new weight lifting facility.

“We want to increase the number of students who want to get involved in Holton athletics,” he said. “I also want to bring a friendly atmosphere to the district.”
