Tigers 8, Royals 6 – Ian Kinsler’s two-run walk off home run in the ninth inning led the Tigers over the Kansas City Royals on Thursday afternoon.
The Tigers are now on a two-game winning streak and have taken two-of-three games from the division leading Royals.
Victor Martinez had his first multi-homer game as a Tiger, hitting two and knocking in five runs.
Detroit starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez took a no decision, allowing four runs on five hits while striking out six batters in six innings.
Alex Wilson picked up the victory, pitching a scoreless ninth inning with the game tied at 6-6.
The Tigers will host the Boston Red Sox over the weekend starting on Friday night.
