It’s the time of year when area sports fans start wondering when they can get their copy of the annual Local Sports Journal high school football preview section.lsj-fb-logo

This year they can get their copy at a football party!

On Friday, August 21, Local Sports Journal, Sport Clips, and WLCS 98.3 FM will host a special high school football preview section release party at Tatra Hall (Sixth Street and Sherman Boulevard) from 4-7 p.m.

Everyone is invited to stop by and grab their free hot-off-the-press copy of the football preview, which will once again feature a full page of information and photos for each of our 18 area high school football teams.

The section will also include a special profile of Muskegon Catholic football coach Steve Czerwon, who has won state championships in his first two years on the job.

The WLCS radio sports crew will be on hand for a special live broadcast of the Mercy Health Sports Medicine Power Hour from 5-7 p.m. You can watch and listen as they interview area coaches like Czerwon, Mona Shores’ Matt Koziak, Reeths-Puffer’s Kyle Jewett and others.

Several former football standouts from the area – including Mike Reinhold (Muskegon Catholic, University of Michigan), Mike Teeter (Fruitport, University of Michigan) and Josh Keur (Orchard View, Michigan State) will also be on hand.Kick off

The staff from Tatra Hall will have sandwiches and your favorite beverages available for purchase, and there will be 50/50 drawings and raffles.

This free event is open for everyone who’s excited about kicking off the 2015 high school football season. So come on down, mingle with local coaches and sports writers, and find out how your favorite team is expected to do this season.
