LSJ Logo incertThe Montague volleyball team defeated Ludington 2-1 in the finals to win the Mason County Central Invitational on Tuesday night.

The Wildcats tied their first match with Ludington, then beat Holton, Manistee, Shelby and Kingsley before facing the Orioles again in the finals.

Emma Flagstead led Montague with 69 kills while Robbie Berg had 41. Morgan Roesler had 21 aces, Summer Garwood had 129 assists and Sierra Armstrong had 71 digs.

Holton also competed in the tournament, losing to Montague and Shelby, tying Kingsley and defeating Manistee and Newaygo.

The Red Devils are now 4-4-1 on the season.

Shelbey Younts had 11 aces, 63 assists and 28 digs for Holton while Mikaela Baker had 21 kills.
