Tigers 7, White Sox 4 – The Tigers’ offense scored early and often to defeat the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday afternoon to split the four-game series.
Detroit starting pitcher Justin Verlander tossed the victory, allowing three runs on five hits in seven innings. He has had eight quality starts in his last nine.
Victor Martinez hit his 200th career home run and knocked in two runs for Detroit, while J.D. Martinez had two RBIs giving him 98 on the season.
Neftali Feliz picked up his eighth save of the season pitching a hitless ninth inning.
The Tigers will play their final home series of the season starting Friday night against the Minnesota Twins.
