The Fruitport football team scored 26 second quarter points to lead the Trojans over Fremont 32-8 on Friday night in a Lakes 8 game.

Fruitport went on a 32-0 run to start the game (26 points in the second quarter and six in the third) before the Packers scored their lone touchdown in the fourth quarter.

The Trojans improve to 2-2 on the season and are 2-0 in Lakes 8 play, while Fremont is now 0-4 and 0-2 in league play.

Fruitport quarterback Jared Wierengo rushed for 55 yards and three touchdowns and threw for 183 yards and two scores.

Seth Glover and Cody Rabach each caught a touchdown reception for the Trojans.

Fremont’s Caleb Koomen scored the Packers lone touchdown.
