The Muskegon Community College volleyball team got off to a great start Saturday in the Raider Challenge tournament in Grand Rapids, beating Mott Community Colllege and Alpena Community College by identical 3-0 scores.
Set scores against Mott were 25-20, 25-17 and 25-18, while the scores against Alpena were 25-12, 25-17 and 25-21.
Leaders for the Jayhawks included Rachel Brown with 19 kills and 4 blocks, Jane Kuipers with 18 kills and 5 blocks, Haley Koetje with 11 kills and 9 digs, and Lindsey Jacobs with 55 assists.
MCC will finish the tournament Sunday with matches against Cuyahoga Community College and Oakland Community College.
