The Oakridge soccer team won the Hanover-Horton tournament on Saturday.

LSJ Logo incertThe Eagles started the day with a 5-2 win over Jonesville. Travis Lucas had 4 goals and Trevor Carpenter added one. Credited with assists were Cruz Rodriguez (2), Brenden Thiele, Damian Herrera and Andrew Dial. Bradley Jones had 8 saves in net.

In their second game they beat Hanover-Horton 8-0. Rodriguez netted three goals and Lucas had two. Adding single goals were Jones, Troy Beebe and Kyle Knight.

Jones and Jason Cerka shared time in net for the shutout. Assists went too Lucas (2), Beebe, Monty Cerchiori and Austin Decker.

The Eagles finished the day with a 5-4 shootout victory over Hillsdale.

Oakridge took a 3-0 halftime lead with goals by Thiele, Carpenter and Lucas. All three tallies were assisted by Rodriguez.

In the second half Hillsdale came out recharged and scored four unanswered goals to take a 4-3 lead. Lucas tied the game at 4-4 with another goal assisted by Rodriguez with 2:10 left to play.

Oakridge won the shootout 3-2 with goals by Nathan Barber, Fletcher Chase and the game winner by Lucas.
