The Cardinals lost their second straight game Friday, 40-14 to Manistee.

Orchard View fell to 0-2 on the season while Manistee improved to 2-0.

The first quarter was disastrous for the Cardinals, who fell behind 28-7 in the first quarter.

Manistee, which had a 282-62 advantage in rushing, only had a 12-7 edge in the final three quarters, but the damage was done.

Quarterback Tai Allen rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns and completed 3 of 6 passes for 80 yards and one touchdown.

Greg Flowers had a rushing touchdown for Orchard View while Dakota Goosen hauled in a touchdown pass from Sam Mitchell.

“We’ve got a bad habit of starting slow,” said OV Coach Joe Tanis. “We’re just going to watch the film and go back to work.”
