The Shelby Tigers used a strong second half to earn a 2-1 comeback victory over Manistee on Thursday afternoon.
After trailing 1-0 at halftime, The Tigers tied the game up 17 minutes into the second half when Carlos Avilez found the back of the net on an assist from Danny Beckman.
With five minutes left in the game, the Tigers drew a penalty inside the box and earned a penalty shot. Avilez stepped up to take the penalty shot and found the back of the net to put the Tigers up for good.
In total the Tigers outshot Manistee 14-2 on the day.
Shelby is now 7-0-2 on the season and 2-0-1 in Western Michigan Conference play.
