Red Wings 4, Maple Leafs 0 – Justin Abdelkader scored a three-goal hat trick on opening night to lead the Red Wings over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday night.
Nineteen-year old rookie sensation Dylan Larkin scored a goal and picked up an assist in his National Hockey League debut, while Henrik Zetterberg picked up three assists.
Detroit’s goaltender Jimmy Howard stopped all 22 Maple Leaf shots to earn the shutout.
The Red Wings will take on the Carolina Hurricanes on the road Saturday night.
