Fruitport’s volleyball team continued its strong play from Saturday’s GMAA city championship by cruising through three opponents in the Lakes Eight/West Michigan Conference Crossover Tournament on Tuesday. LSJ Logo incert

The Trojans swept past Oakridge (25-10, 25-12), Hart (25-12, 25-10, and Muskegon Catholic Central (25-13, 25-12). With the victories, Fruitport improves to 29-14 overall.

Fruitport had a trio of big hitters throughout the evening, as Jordan Carlyle totaled 15 kills, Ally German added 14 and Katie Veihl totaled 11. Setter Alyssa Veihl recorded 58 assists in the six sets, while defensively, Kelsey Schultz paced the Trojans with 29 digs. Katie Veihl also had 22 digs.

German also had a team-high six aces.
