Grand Haven soccer team wins its fifth straight Division 1 district championship

The Grand Haven soccer team again used its stifling defense to defeat Grandville 1-0 on Saturday in the finals of the Division 1 district tournament.

It was the fifth straight district title for the Bucs.

Ethan King scored the Bucs’ lone goal in the second half, assisted by Luke Staskiewicz.

Goalkeeper Garrison Mast posted the shutout.

Grand Haven (13-4-2) moves on to the regional semifinals on Tuesday at East Kentwood High School where it will face Portage Northern (17-3) at 5 p.m.
