Mona Shores senior quarterback Tyler Trovinger returned after a two-week rest to lead the Sailors to a 42-8 thrashing of Grand Rapids Union on the road Friday night.

Trovinger threw three TD passes in the opening half, the first coming early in the first quarter on a strike to Kobe Burse. Hunter Broersma followed up with a long rushing score as Mona Shores led 13-0 early.

Mike Bordeaux’s touchdown run just before halftime lifted Mona Shores to a 35-0 lead at the break.

Elijah Wilson shared duties at quarterback for Mona Shores throwing a pair of TD passes to Darece Roberson and Bordeaux.

Mona Shores’ Adrian Prito tallied a defensive touchdown on an interception return.
