Pistons 120, Trailblazers 103 – The Detroit Pistons outscored the Portland Trailblazers 41-11 during the fourth quarter of Sunday night’s victory.

LSJ Logo incertReggie Jackson scored a career high 40 points for the Pistons, while Andre Drummond had another 20-20 night with 29 points and 27 rebounds.

Detroit trailed by 18 points before its fourth quarter charge. Jackson scored 26 points during the quarter, tying Will Bynum for most Pistons’ points in a quarter in franchise history.

The Pistons are off to their best start since 2007 with a 5-1 record, good for second place in the Central Division behind the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Detroit will play the defending NBA champion Golden St. Warriors on Monday night.Eye on the D

Stars 4, Red Wings 1- The Dallas Stars snapped the Red Wings three-game winning streak on Sunday afternoon.

The Stars jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a pair of first period goals.

Gustav Nyquist cut the Red Wings deficit to 2-1 with a power play goal late in the first period. Mike Green and Niklas Kronwall picked up assists on the goal.

Dallas responded with two late third period goals, to seal the victory.

Detroit’s goaltender Jimmy Howard took the loss, he stopped 20 of 22 shots and left the game midway through the third period after colliding with a Stars’ player.

The Red Wings are now 7-6-1 on the season, good for 15 points and a fourth place tie in the Atlantic Division.

Detroit will host the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night.
