Capitals 2, Red Wings 1 (OT)-Evgeny Kuznetsov’s game-winning goal 45 seconds into overtime lifted the Washington Capitals over the Red Wings on Wednesday night.

LSJ Logo incertDylan Larkin scored the Red Wings lone goal at the 2:48 mark of the first period, Pavel Datsyuk picked up the assist on the goal.

Detroit’s goaltender Petr Mrazek took the OT loss, he stopped 25 of 27 Capital shots.

The Red Wings are now 9-8-2 on the season, good for 20 points and third place in the Atlantic Division.

Detroit will remain home to host the Los Angeles Kings on Friday night.Eye on the D
