The Grant volleyball team came away with a three-set victory (25-15, 25-16, 25-10) over Fremont in the Class B District LSJ Logo incerttitle match Thursday at Tri-County High School.

It was Grant’s fifth straight district championship.

The Tigers will play Grand Rapids West Catholic on Tuesday at Hudsonville Unity Christian in Class B regional semifinals. They are 38-16-4 on the season.

Grant coach Tricia Schuitema was very pleased with her team on Thursday night.

“I was so proud of how our girls played and handled themselves tonight,” said Schuitema. “All of our players had great contributions in the match, they worked hard, and played very efficient volleyball.”

Laura Bouwkamp led the Tigers with 17 kills and added ten digs, while Kenzie Nicholes had 11 digs and four assists. Sierra Schuitema chipped in with 32 assists, 15 digs, and six kills.

The Packers, who finished their season with a 31-20-2 record, were eliminated by Grant for the third straight year.
