Mason County Central’s football season came to an end on Friday night with a 61-12 loss to host Traverse City St. Francis in a LSJ Logo incertDivision 6 district final game.

The Spartans tied the game 6-6 with 5:01 left in the first quarter on a 27-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Spencer Knizacky to Austin Tyndall.

But Traverse City St. Francis grabbed a 13-6 lead after the first quarter, then exploded in the second quarter with 28 unanswered points to take a 41-6 halftime lead.

Mason County Central scored its final touchdown of the game with 16 seconds remaining on an 81 yard run by Knizacky.

The Spartans closed their season with a 7-4 record.
