The Ravenna volleyball team is one step away from winning a Class C district title after defeating Western Michigan LSJ Logo incertChristian in five sets on Wednesday in a semifinal match.

The set scores were 14-25, 25-12, 25-17, 20-25 and 15-8.

The Bulldogs will host Kent City on Thursday night for the district title.

“We started slow tonight but picked it up with great defensive plays,” said Ravenna Coach Kim Platt. “It was a team effort and everyone worked hard.

“We are excited to play in the district finals against Kent City, we haven’t played them this season.”

Amber Jacobs led the Bulldogs with 19 kills and four blocks while Sydney Hanson had 13 kills and 31 digs. Megan Crowley added 30 assists, Hayley Dekker chipped in 12 digs while Sabrina Bawcum added three blocks.
