Detroit sports glance: Pistons win over lowly Philadelphia 76ers; Red Wings lose in OT against New Jersey Devils

Pistons 107, 76ers 95 – The Pistons jumped out to a 35-14 lead after the first quarter, then cruised to a victory over the one-win Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night.

LSJ Logo incertReggie Jackson and Marcus Morris led the Pistons with 21 points each, while Andre Drummond added 18 points and 16 rebounds.

The Pistons are now 13-11 on the season, good for fourth place in the Central Division.

Detroit will host the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night.

Devils 3, Red Wings 2 (OT) – The Detroit Red Wings let a two-goal lead slip away, and lost in overtime to the New Jersey Devils on Friday night.

The Red Wings point streak continues at 13 games with earning at least one point in the standings.

Gustav Nyquist and Tomas Tatar each scored their 11th goal of the season for Detroit.

Detroit goaltender Jimmy Howard took the loss in overtime. He stopped 35 of 38 New Jersey shots.

The Red Wings are now 16-8-6 on the season, good for 38 points and second place in the Atlantic Division.

Detroit will head back home to take on the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night.
