All-Stater Mardreika Cook poured in 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Muskegon girls basketball team to a 59-48 victory over Rockford on Friday.

The Big Reds took control of the contest by grabbing a 10-point halftime lead.

FREMONT 44, ORCHARD VIEW 33 – Orchard View pulled to within six points with three minutes left, but Fremont (2-2, 1-1) was able to pull away down the stretch. Sophomore guard Hali Garcia led a balanced Packers’ scoring attack with 13 points. Amaya Brown led Orchard View with 15 points.

LUDINGTON 55, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 25 – The Crusaders (2-2, 0-2) were able to cut the Oriole (3-0, 2-0) lead to 15 midway through the third quarter, but couldn’t get any closer. Claire Flewelling led Ludington with 13 points while Emily Rauch paced Muskegon Catholic with nine points.

KENT CITY 78, HESPERIA 12 – The Eagles were led by McKenna Carlson with 12 points while Alexis Hartzell added 11. Cheyenne Witte scored all 12 Panther points.

LAKEVIEW 55, HOLTON 35 – The Holton girls basketball team dropped to 1-2 after a loss to Lakeview Friday night. Mikaela Baker led the Red Devils with eight points. Alicia Dykman added five points and 11 rebounds.

WEST MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 51, WYOMING KELLOGSVILLE 17Aubrey Goorman led the Warriors (3-1) with 14 points, Katelyn Wright added 13 points, and Cassie Kingma had 10 points.
