The Fremont girls basketball team trailed the entire game Tuesday, then tied the contest with 50 seconds left and went on to defeat Holton 38-33 in overtime.

Bri Harris led Fremont with 10 points. Hali Garcia added eight points for the Packers while Katie Parkhurst scored six. Holton was led by Shelbey Younts, who had 14 points.

Fruitport 51, Comstock Park 43 Iyana Brown had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead the Trojans to an opening night victory. Emily Winicki added nine points for the Trojans while Alissa Veihl grabbed 11 rebounds and Katie Veihl added eight boards.

Ludington 54, Shelby 37– The Orioles were led by Ali Plamondon with 22 points and 12 rebounds while Mikayla Mesyar added 10 points. Jenny Beckmann led the Tigers in a losing effort with 15 points.

Reeths-Puffer 52, Zeeland West 32 – The Rockets jumped out to a 33-8 halftime lead and cruised to the opening game win. Brooke Larabee and Delaney Bolles scored 15 and 13 points, respectively, for Reeths-Puffer. Elysia Mattos added nine points, four steals and four assists.

Montague 40, Orchard View 25 – The Wildcats led the Cardinals 22-5 at halftime after only surrendering one field goal in the first two quarters.Claudia Rumsey led the Wildcats with 17 points, 11 of which were scored in the second half. Emma Flagstead added eight points for Montague. Orchard View was led by Janaya Ferrell with seven points and 12 rebounds while A’marie Brown, and Morgan Gates each had seven points.
