Whitehall boys hold on for a 46-44 victory over Grant

The Whitehall boys basketball team opened its season with a close 46-44 victory over Grant in a non-league game on Tuesday night.

Grant trail by three with no time left on the clock, but had a chance to force overtime with three free throws. But the Tigers only hit the first shot, allowing the Vikings to escape with the win.

C.J. Watson led Whitehall with 16 points and 18 rebounds, Keenan Aylor added eight points and seven rebounds and Luc Schumm had eight points.

The Tigers were led in a losing effort by Spencer Naffziger with 13 points.
