The Hesperia boys basketball team scored 43 points in the second half to overcome a deficit and beat Orchard View 69-60 on Tuesday in non-league action.

LSJ Logo incertThe Panthers trailed 31-26 at halftime before turning on the offensive jets. They helped themselves by hitting 24 of 34 from the free throw line.

Traxton Gordon, who had a game-high 32 points, made 16 of 21 free throw attempts. Jake Palmer added 19 points for Hesperia.

Matias Keyes led Orchard View with 16 points, followed by Cameron Williams with 15 and Devron Williams with 12.

SAUGATUCK 65, MUSKEGON WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 62 – Western Michigan Christian used an 18-8 run in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 59-59 and force overtime. But the Warrior offense was unable to get going in overtime and was outscored 6-3. Nate Dugener led the Warriors (4-7) with 21 points, including seven fourth quarter points and the three Warrior points in overtime. Blake Dunn led Saugatuck with 31 points.
MUSKEGON HEIGHTS ACADEMY 70, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC CENTRAL 47 – Muskegon Heights jumped out to a 33-14 halftime lead on Tuesday and never looked back. The Tigers (9-1) were led by Anthony Jones with 26 points while Antoine Jones had 10 assists and DeCarri Brown had 10 rebounds. The Crusaders (3-7) were led by Nick Morgenstern with nine points.
LUDINGTON 47, MANISTEE 26: The Orioles locked down defensively in the second half, limiting the Chippewas to just 12 points to pull away. Andrew Jones led Ludington with 15 points, which included three 3-pointers.
